EcoEvoRxiv Publication Policies

The EcoEvoRxiv server publishes preprints, postprints, reports, and datasets that contribute to the understanding of and advances in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology. EcoEvoRxiv hosts manuscripts based on empirical and simulation data, as well as literature reviews and opinion pieces.

The EcoEvoRxiv server publishes English language manuscripts. Manuscripts are expected to have high quality with regard to structure, language, data-presentation, and validity of conclusions (where applicable). Manuscripts not meeting these criteria will not be hosted.

A data-based manuscript will be assessed by at least one steering committee member to decide whether to accept or reject the manuscript, whereas an opinion or review article will be assessed by at least two members. Although decisions by the committee members are usually final, we reserve rights to change the decisions.

All other preprint publication policies of EcoEvoRxiv are the same as those of PeerJ Preprints, apart from their “Discipline-Specific Standards”. For postprints, it is the authors’ responsibility to connect their postprints to published versions and assure that the postprint adheres to the publisher copyright and self-archiving policy. A source of publisher policies with regard to preprint and postprint publications can be found on the Sherpa-Romeo webpage.
